We are delighted to celebrate More House alumnus Dylan Llewellyn, who is currently taking part in the BBC's Celebrity Race Across the World. Travelling across Central America with his mum, Jackie, Dylan is embracing a journey that blends challenge, courage and heartfelt reflection. In a recent Guardian interview, Dylan spoke openly about his early experiences in education and the transformational impact of joining More House: "School was frustrating. I constantly felt as if I wasn't smart enough. I would get in trouble for not completing my homework, even though I was trying as hard as I could. I was nine years old when I moved from my local primary to More House School, which specialises in supporting students with autism and dyslexia. That place saved me completely. When I realised I wasn't dumb, I was dyslexic, I could finally be a bit kinder to myself." His mum, Jackie, reflected on that same turning point: "Dylan had been written off but at More House, suddenly he thrived. There was a drama teacher who saw his potential as an actor. I had to drive nearly an hour each way every day to get him there, but it was worth it." Their voices echo what the More House School community strives to build every day: belief, resilience and the freedom for each young person to discover their strengths. Dylan's participation in Celebrity Race Across the World brings that story full circle—showing the independence, confidence and quiet determination he has carried forward from his time at the school. His journey, alongside Jackie, continues to inspire our students and reminds us of the transformative power of understanding, opportunity and the right environment. We wish Dylan and Jackie every success as they race onward, and we remain immensely proud of all they represent. Race Across the World is available to watch on iPlayer.
